Welcome to my website!
My name is Eric. This is my personal page for hobbies and other fun topics.
I've been using computers for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are typing commands into a DOS prompt so that I could play King's Quest with my dad. As soon as I learned how to utilize PKUNZIP to decompress various game demos from our handful of sampler floppy diskettes, I was hooked.
While these newfound game demos satiated my curiosity for some time, computers were much more expensive in the 90s and my family kept our Pentium 166 until 2003. As a teenager with little to no resources for purchasing a new computer of my own, I learned to do more with less. My fondness for efficiency and minimalism has persisted throughout the years, as can be seen in this website. This site is hosted on a VPS running AlmaLinux, maintained and secured by me. All of my pictures will be reduced to grayscale and dithered for both size and aesthetic considerations.
My professional background is primarily in Linux server administration, including shell (bash) scripting and a bit of networking. On a smaller scale, I have also enjoyed working with Python and would be very excited for opportunities to learn more about it. I have a passion for open source projects and use GNU/Linux at home as my primary operating system.
