This is my e-drum (electronic drum) set that I built using selected parts from eBay. I elected to build my own set instead of purchasing a brand-new set due to cost and desired features. Hi-hat sensitivity (or "levels") is extremely important to me and I wanted more than a single sample for open/closed sounds, but existing e-drum sets with this feature are quite expensive.

To work around the cost issue, I was able to use an eDRUMin trigger interface and connect to my Macbook (and ThinkPad running Ubuntu Studio, although there were latency issues with this solution without an external audio interface) running EZdrummer 3. This was still expensive, but I was able to purchase parts as-needed and now have more flexibility, as well.
